The three- time African champions who previously occupied 40th position are now 38th in the world.
They occupy fourth position in Africa with Egypt, Senegal and African champions Cameroon ahead of them in the ranking.
The Eagles who are yet to lose a game under German tactician, Gernot Rohr will face the Hawks of Togo in a friendly encounter in Paris on Friday.
The Bafana Bafana of South Africa who will face Rohr’s men in a 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture on June 10 at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo occupy 69th position.
Libya and Seychelles, the two other teams in the group are ranked 92nd and 194th respectively.
Their World Cup qualifying foes, Algeria and Zambia sit in 53rd and 99th place respectively.
Brazil, Argentina and Germany are the top three teams in the world, followed by Chile and Colombia.
