Nigeria defender, Efe Ambrose has penned a two-year contract with Scottish outfit, Hibernian, apnewsng.com can report.

The versatile player spent the second half of last season on loan at the club after failing to pin down a regular shirt at Celtic.

The former Kaduna United star made 12 appearances as Neil Lennon’s led side won the championship title to book their return to the top flight.

The likes of Standard Liege, Schalke 04 and Vancouver Whitecaps expressed keen interest in securing his services but he has now opted to extend his stay with Hibernian.

Ambrose endured a tough spell at Celtic following his arrival from Isreali side, Ashdod in 2012.

He will also hope to get back to international reckoning once again following his omission from the Super Eagles in recent weeks.
