The United Nations Children Education Fund (UNICEF) has flagged off distribution of Inclusive Learning kits to 50 selected Zamfara primary schools.

The schools are benefiting from a N750 million Norway Foundation fund for Self Inclusive Learning and Skill for All programme, a UNICEF programme.

UNICEF Focal person in the state Universal Basic Education Board (ZSUBEB), Malam Muzamil Ibrahim, announced this on Thursday in Gusau, at the flagging of the distribution of safety and security kits to the schools.

According to him, the primary schools were selected across 10 local government areas of the state.

“The N750 million is an assistance from a Norway foundation for self Inclusive Learning and Skill for All (SILSA), a UNICEF Programme.

“Zamfara State is among the selected states in Nigeria to benefit from the gesture of the Norway foundation.

“Norway Foundation is a body that provides support to primary schools as part of measures of curtailing the menace of insecurity in the state and nation in general,” he said.

The Acting Chairman of the state Universal Basic Education Board and Director of Administration of the board, Alhaji Aminu Kanoma, commended the effort of the foundation for distributing the kits.

Kanoma assured that the board would properly monitor to ensure the kits were utilised diligently.

He also appealed to the benefitting schools to ensure judicious use of the kits.

He prayed for divine intervention to restore peace in the state and the country at large.
