The head pastor of Harvesters International  Christian Centre, (HICC) Pastor Bolaji Idowu on Sunday succinctly covered all the salient principles that can aid an excellent management of monthly income, using seven cups.

These cups were tagged “the seven money cups”.  The teaching was crafted with the impulse to ensure people open the untapped financial wells in this season of deficit.

He said “A lot of people once had money, but could not sustain it because they lacked the proper knowledge of how to manage money.”

Cup of Necessities 40%

Necessities are the items or services you absolutely must buy with your income. They include basic food, transportation, shelter, for medical care. Other necessities relate to your daily obligation.

Cup of Giving 15%

The Bible encourages giving that is done voluntarily and with the right motive. This giving entails; tithes, offerings, seeds and monies given to those in need. Heartfelt giving is part of the things God approves and the Bible teaches that God himself will reward givers.

Cup of Development 10%

Personal development consists of activities that develop a person’s capabilities and potential, build human capital, facilitate employability, and enhance quality of life and the realization of dreams and aspirations. By allowing you to explore key areas in of self improvement, you’re more likely to feel fulfilled in your personal life- and it could even benefit you from a professional perspective.

Cup of Projects 10%

Whether your projects are big or small, you must devote time to figure out how to organize and finance them. Save enough money to carry out that project. However, the earlier you start to save, regardless of your budget, the more you will save.

Cup of Investment 10%

An investment is an asset or item required with the goal of generating income or appreciation.
