Gbenga Ogunbote believes Enyimba’s home win against Kano Pillars
has renewed their hope of ending the season among the top three.
The People’s Elephant relied on a 71st minute Mfon Udoh strike from the penalty spot to acquire maximum points.
“We are happy with these important three points and we are certain it will take us closer to our aspiration to end the season in the top three,” Ogunbote told Goal .
“It was a tough match and my boys gave everything for it to get the points.
“Kano Pillars gave a good account of themselves and from the way they prepared for the game we knew they won’t give up easily.
“We will take up the result from here and approach our next away tie with MFM even more serious than this knowing that an away win could change the complexity of the league table.”
The Aba giants are fourth on the league table with 50 points from 32 matches.
