
The burial of Chairman Senate committee on Capital Market, Isiaka Adeleke, earlier scheduled for 4 p.m. on Sunday has been postponed after the deceased siblings demanded for an autopsy to ascertain cause of his death.
It would be recalled that Adeleke, a former civilian governor of Osun State, died earlier on Sunday at Biket Hospital in Osogbo.
The remain of the senator representing Osun West senatorial district was brought to his residence in Ede at about 1 p.m. in preparation for the Islamic burial rites.
But as clerics gathered to commence the rites, the siblings to the late politician, Deji, ordered for autopsy to be carried out to ascertain the cause of death.
Due to the new development, the corpse was transferred to Ladoke Akintola Hospital in Osogbo, where the autopsy will be carried out.
Deji was also said to have directed that the burial ceremony of the two term senator be postponed till Monday at 10 am when the result of the test would have been known.
Friends and sympathisers, who were waiting for the burial ceremony, were told around 5 p.m. that the event had been postponed.
