The Rotary Club of Abuja Wuse 2 District 9125 has extended its humanitarian activities to the General Hospital Ijaye, Lagos State where it settled the medical bill of an indigent woman who gave birth to triplet.
The president of Rotary Club of Abuja Wuse 2 (District9125 ), Barr. John Ebokpo who made the donation facilitated by Human Appeal Foundation also donated the sum of N1000 to each patient in the same ward with the triplet mother.
Ebokpo said the gesture was to further reinforce Rotary International’s efforts at ensuring welfare of the people irrespective of their backgrounds.
He said, “Rotary International as you know is a global humanitarian organisation with 6 core areas of focus, which includes peace and conflict resolution, disease prevention and treatment, water and sanitation, maternal and child health, basic education and literacy and economic and community development.
Ebokpo stated further, “Just like the one we just witnessed now which has to do with maternal and child health, rotary has these areas of focus. Even in conflict resolution, rotary plays a major key there.”
He noted that Rotary international is a service based organization because the good you do comes back to you.
