The Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has restated his administration’s commitment to promptly pay the salaries of Edo workers to enable them to take care of their welfare.

Obaseki, represented by his Deputy, Philip Shaibu, gave the assurance when he received officials of the Association of Senior Civil Servant of Nigeria Edo chapter, Government House, Benin on Friday.

He assured the senior civil servant that all the issues they raised would be addressed and that government would address the issue of reinstating some of the disengaged staff of State Universal Basic Education Board in the state.

The Governor stated that state government was committed to all Edo workers’ welfare, adding that they would not derail in paying workers at the end of every month.

The Chairman of the association, Joe Amokhai, appealed to the government to reopen Edo pensions’ board for easy processing of pensions and gratuities for pensioners in the state
