A local medical official in Iraq said on Sunday that two suicide bombers killed five people in attacks on army and police checkpoints in the former Islamic State stronghold of Fallujah.

According to the official, three of the dead were members of the security forces, while 25 other people were injured.
The attackers blew up explosive-rigged vehicles at two checkpoints, he said.
Security forces imposed a curfew after the attack in Fallujah.
Fallujah, which is 50 kilometers west of Baghdad, was the first Iraqi city captured by the then Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant in early 2014.
It was recaptured by security forces in June this year.
