The Speaker of the US House of Representatives and Trump critic, Paul Ryan, has described the election result as “the most incredible political feat I have seen in my lifetime”.
The senior Republican said Donald Trump had connected with American voters in a way no-one else could.
He also said the Donald had helped other Republicans win Congress seats “on his coat-tails”.
He said: “He turned politics on its head. Donald Trump will lead a unified Republican government.”
Mr Ryan had said he would not defend Mr Trump after the now infamous p***y tapes surfaced.
