The South Africa Football Association, SAFA will announce a new head coach for the country’s senior men’s national team, Bafana Bafana in the next 48 hours, reports apnewsng.com.
The association sacked former handler of the side, Ephraim ‘Shakes’ Mashaba in December 2016 and appointed his former assistant, Shakes Mashaba as the caretaker boss.
But, with the former African champions set to face perennial rivals, Nigeria in a 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in June, SAFA is now set to unveil the name of the new man that will tinker the side following months of intense search and negotiations.
“Following a thorough, but lengthy process of seeking a replacement Head Coach for the men’s national team, the association is pleased to announce that it has finalised an agreement with the successful candidate,”read a statement on SAFA’s official Twitter handle.
“And in the process of formalizing the legal arrangements by exchanging signatures today, we are mindful that the South African public have been waiting for this matter to be concluded.
“We can report that we will make a formal and more detailed announcement to this effect in the next 24 to 48 hours.”
