Palestine’s UN Membership: Malaysia Expresses Disappointment Over U.S. Veto

(Last Updated On: )
Malaysia on Friday expressed its disappointment over the U.S. decision to use its veto to deny Palestine full membership in the United Nations.
It also called into question the sincerity of the United States to realise the inalienable rights of the Palestinians, including their right to self-determination, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
“Malaysia is deeply concerned and utterly disappointed that a veto has been exercised to block the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) from admitting Palestine as a full member of the United Nations on April 18.
“U.S. blocked Palestine inspite the clarion call by an overwhelming majority of UN Member States,” it said.
It added that Malaysia will continue to support the Palestinian cause.
