The Osun State house of assembly has disclosed plans to probe death of a female corps member, Ifedolapo Oladepo, who died recently at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Orientation Camp in Kano State.

The lawmakers’ decision came three days after Ifedolapo, a first class graduate of Transport management from the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, ogbomoso, was interred in Osogbo.

Speaker of the state house of assembly, Najeem Salam, who disclosed their aim to unravel the cause of the Corp member’s death, assured that their investigation would be independent considering circumstances surrounding her death.

The lawmaker, who is representing Ejigbo Constituency at the house of assembly, said that there would be consequences should the outcome of the investigation reveal that officials at the camp were negligent in attending to the deceased when she took ill.

The speaker in a statement by his media aide, Goke Butika, on Saturday, said that the lawmakers would wait for the completion of the ongoing investigation by NYSC before commencing there with a view to get the actual cause of her demise.

“There would be consequences for the death of the Osun State born first class graduate of Transport management from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomosho, should investigation reveal negligence of the NYSC officials.

“I sent my condolence on behalf of the Osun parliament to the Oladepos over the death of young Dolapo who died at Kano NYSC orientation camp, and I want to assure the family that our parliament would certainly pick a bone with the NYSC on the matter until it is resolved in favour of justice for the deceased and her family,” he added.
