Femi Fani-Kayode, has condemned Ondo state Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) former governorship aspirant, Jimoh Ibrahim’s congratulatory letter to All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Rotimi Akeredolu, who is awaiting Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declaration in the polls.
Fani-Kayode’s reaction came barely hours after Ibrahim wrote to Akeredolu, congratulating him over success recorded during the polls, just as he warned him against any acquaintances with the Ondo state governor, Olusegun Mimiko.
Ibrahim was until Tuesday the candidate of the PDP, but was replaced following the Court of Appeal ruling in favour of Eyitayo Jegede.
Reacting over the content of the letter, the former Aviation minister on Sunday described the publisher of National Mirror newspaper as a betrayer who sold his party for money.
“The biggest Judas in Nigerian politics today is Jimoh Ibrahim. He sold his party for money. He lives like Judas and he will end like Judas.”
Earlier, Jimoh in the letter said, “My dear egbon. Congratulations. I have computed the results sent to me from 2907 wards by my party agents across Ondo State.
“It shows you are leading with unrecoverable margin. I congratulate you as governor-elect of our lovely state. I will advise you quickly maintain distance from Mimiko if you want to succeed.
“I have no doubt that you will urgently create hope for our people; kindly do whatever you can to assist your lovely civil servants. I saw poverty in those villages I visited during campaign. Please kindly assist traditional rulers as much as you can, the letter read.”
Ibrahim also urged Akeredolu to probe Mimiko’s administration by auditing all public accounts and recovering (funds and other property owned by the government.
