Ogun APC Mourns Akeredolu’s Death

(Last Updated On: )

All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun has mourned the death of Gov. Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State, describing it as the end of an era.

This is contained in a statement issued in Abeokuta on Wednesday by the APC Publicity Secretary in the state, Tunde Oladunjoye.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Akeredolu died in the early hours of Wednesday in Germany after a prolonged battle with leukemia at the age of 67.

Oladunjoye described the late Akeredolu as a man of courage, who gave all he had to his state and the country in general.

“Highly successful legal practice, which spanned several decades, saw him emerging, not only as a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) but also, President of Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).

“Through politics, he bestrode the scene like a colossus and displayed loyalty, tenacity and integrity,” he remarked.

Oladunjoye commiserated with the members of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum (NGF), families and friends of the departed governor and the people of Ondo State.

He prayed that God would comfort them and grant them the fortitude to bear the loss of an icon.
