Godwin Obaje says it will be a great feat to emerge top scorer in the Nigeria Professional Football League once again after last season heroics, apnewsng.com can report.
The FC Ifeanyiubah forward netted 18 times in the colours of Wikki Tourists to win the honour last term.
This season, the talented striker has scored nine goals but his five adrift of leading scorer Stephen Odey who plays for MFM FC of Lagos.
Obaje scored a brace to help the Anambra Warriors beat former champions Kano Pillars 2-0 at home last Sunday.
It was his third in the last two games for Yaw Preko’s men who now sit in third position in the table and are now unbeaten in their last eight games.
He said: If i win it again is great, but i just want to keep scoring and see what will happen at the end of the season.
“I’m happy with my performance since i joined FC Ifeanyiubah from Wikki Tourists. It was tough at the beginning but i have settled well now and things can only get better.
“The goals are coming on a regular basis now and the team is also performing well too. Hopefully, we will continue to do well and better the achievement of last season.”
