The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), has challenged the organisations’s Executive and Management teams to work harder so as to make Nigerian Seaports competitive and up-to-date in line with global best practices.
A statement issued by General Manager (Public Affairs),   NPA’s Managing Director, Hadiza Bala Usman made the call at a management retreat organized by Messrs Boston Consulting Group (BCG) from the United State of America (USA) on Wednesday, in Lagos.
According to her, on assumption of duty, she took it upon herself “the challenges of pursuing reform measures aimed at instituting best practices that would ensure ease of doing business in our operating and administrative processes”.
Usman said she has implicit confidence in the caliber of workforce in NPA, noting that they are  “are highly educated, trained and exposed in a well-established organizational structure”.

She noted that, “time has come for NPA to do things differently and in accordance with global accepted standard if we are serious about being globally competitive”.

Usman said, “The one day strategy management retreat had in attendance all Executive Directors, General Managers and a cross section of high level Managers of the Organization”.
