The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) on Monday predicted sunny and hazy weather conditions over the central states of Abuja, Minna, Lokoja, Markudi, Ilorin, southern Kaduna and Jos on Tuesday.
NiMet made the prediction in the Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Monday.
It added that partly cloudy would prevail over the high grounds in the afternoon with day and night temperature of 38 to 29 degrees Celsius and 25 to 13 degrees Celsius respectively.
The agency predicted that the Southern states would experience early morning mist and fog patches which will later give way to cloudy conditions in the morning of the forecast period.
It also predicted thunderstorms over Port Harcourt, Yenagoa, Calabar, Eket and Benin in the afternoon and evening with day and night temperatures of 37 to 33 degrees Celsius and 25 to 23 degrees Celsius respectively.
According to NiMet, northern states will experience dust haze with horizontal visibility within the range of two to five kilometres and visibility of less than 1000m over Maiduguri, Sokoto, Katsina and Kano.
“The region will also have day and night temperatures of 38 to 33 degrees Celsius and 22 to 13 degrees Celsius respectively during the forecast period.
“Slight reduction in visibility is anticipated in the next 24 hours, over the northern regions as a result of dust which has been in suspension in the atmosphere,” NiMet predicted.
