The Speaker of House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has has stressed the need for collective entrepreneurial efforts to revival the nation’s economy from the state of recession.

The Speaker in a statement issued by the Speaker’s special adviser on media and public affairs, Turaki Hassan on Sunday, called on the entrepreneurs in Benin at inaugural ball of Edo state Governor, Godwin Obaseki.

Dogara who tasked new governor and his deputy on effective leadership, was hopeful that both have all it takes to deliver growth and development to Edo people, judging from their past performances.

He said, “I had come in contact with the governor when I was serving in the House of Representatives, specifically, on the House Committee on Capital Market. He made appearances before that committee and I can attest to the fact that I knew him to be a man that is very deep.

“I will say that with our brother, who is his deputy, was a student union activist and comrade, I am sure your experience has positioned you better to pilot affairs of this state to the required destination.’’

According to the speaker, governor Obaseki and his deputy would achieve a lot of things that has been impossible for Edo State, adding that for the former governor, Adams Oshiomole who just handed over to be able to distinguish himself while serving, both have no excuse not to surpass on his achievements.

“The only thing that will stop them is excuses and I believe that the future of democracy, whether in Nigeria or elsewhere, belong to those who will excuse the excuses of others but not theirs, Dogara said.”
