A motivational speaker, Mrs Fola Ogunsola has advised Nigerian graduates to develop basic skills that can make them survive as an entrepreneur.
She gave the advice on Thursday in a seminar at Babcock University in a speech titled, “The current challenges of Graduate’s unemployment”
Ogunsola who decried the high rate of unemployment among Nigerian graduates noted that employers always look for employees that will add values to their business and workplace.
According to her, attitude plays a significant role in everything because ones attitude determines ones altitude.
She said, “Beyond having right attitude to be employable, Nigerian graduates needs to have the basic skills to survive as an entrepreneur.”
Also, a facilitator for Life After Campus (LAC), Mr. Shina Adeyemi said while primary motive of entrepreneurship is to make money, there is need to make an impact in the society.
Adeyemi maintained that training, skill acquisition and getting a good mentor are very essential in the life of a graduate.
This he said was part of the LAC’s decision to hold the seminar.
Also, the Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Sunday Owolabi, thanked the facilitators of LAC and advised the students to know where they are going and also endeavor to find out what happened to those that have gone to wherever they intend to go.
