The Solid Miners fell to a 5-4 penalty shootout defeat against FC IfeanyiUbah in the final at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos on Sunday.
Nasarawa United also missed out on the chance of picking a CAF Confederations Cup ticket.
Dogo who was looking to win his first silverware as a coach however praised his players for their spirited performance in the final.
“It’s always sad when you lose in a big final like the Federation Cup,” the former Kwara United coach told Completesportsnigeria.com.
“It was a tough match that could have gone either way, and I must commend my players for their fight.
”
They gave their best, but you know there can only be one winner in a contest like this.”
