Maj.-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Division Nigerian Army, has charged the newly promoted and decorated senior officers of the Division to redouble efforts in the service of the nation.
Lagbaja gave the charge on Wednesday in Kaduna while decorating three Colonels in the Division promoted to the rank of Brigadier General.
The GOC who is also the Force Commander Operation Whirl Punch, said they should contribute more positively to the system and inspire their subordinates.
“You must redouble your efforts and brace up for more tasks as promotion comes with higher responsibilities,” Lagbaja added.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the newly promoted officers were Brig.-Gen. OO Ejere, Deputy Chief of Staff Training and Operations, Brig.-Gen, AD Aliyu, the Director 1 Division Education Services and Brig.-Gen. AHB Jibril, the Commander 1 Division Provost Group.
Ejere who responded on behalf of the promoted officers, pledged their unalloyed and continuous loyalty to the Nigerian Army and the Commander-in-Chief.
He thanked the Commander-in-Chief, the Army Council and Chief of Army Staff for finding them worthy for promotion.
The event was attended by Formation Commanders, Principal Staff Officers, senior officers, family members and well wishers of the newly promoted officers.
