The Federation of Muslim Women’s Association in Nigeria, (FOMWAN) has urged the Federal Government to fast-track action on the full rehabilitation of the recently released 21 Chibok girls and reinstates them back into the society.
The association made this known in a statement signed by its President, Hajia Aminat Omoti, where it appealed to the federal government, the Nigerian military and other security agencies to continue the efforts and the strategies used to rescue the 21 girls, so that the remaining girls and other persons under the captivity of the Boko Haram insurgents can be released unhurt.
‘We call on the Federal Government to expedite action on the full rehabilitation of the released girls and reinstate them back into the society. Their education, safety and wellbeing should be top priority. This would give the abducted girls and their parents the continuous assurance and confidence needed to understand that their abduction and freedom was a great sacrifice in the struggle of fighting against terrorism in Nigeria’.
It also appealed to the parents of the remaining Chibok girls in captivity to remain confident, exercise patience and be steadfast in the belief that the Buhari administration will bring back their daughters.
FOMWAN however reinstates its commitment in ameliorating the plight of the victims of the insurgency in the various Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camps and supports the agitations for the release of the remaining girls.
