The Computer Professional Registration Council of Nigeria, (CPN) has announced the appointment of Mr. Allwell C. Achumba as the new Registrar/Secretary to the Council.
The announcement was made at the 79th Council regular meeting held recently in Lagos.
Achumba, a Fellow of the Nigerian Computer Society, (NCS) succeeded Mr. Idowu Olusile, who was the Acting Registrar.
The Council is primarily charged with responsibility for building-up local Information Technology (IT) capacity as well as the regulation of IT practice in Nigeria
As a consummate and prominent Information Technology practitioner in Nigeria as well as a chartered member of CPN, Achumba will take the Council to the next level with his strong managerial background, senior level local and international experience and cross sector exposure.
He is endowed with good strategic appreciation and vision, able to build and implement sophisticated plans with a proven track record explicitly supporting business needs.
Achumba who has been in the vanguard for the development of the Nigerian IT profession is a charismatic and pragmatic leader with proven ability to identify new business opportunities.
As a seasoned IT expert, he has the capability to maintain close relationships with external bodies, IT stakeholders, suppliers and clients
