Justice Olukayode Ariwoola is expected to be sworn-in as the next Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) after the resignation of Justice Tanko Muhammad.

Justice Tanko Muhammad resigned from his position based on health grounds, according to his Special Assistant on Media, Mr Isah Ahuraka.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Justice Olukayode Ariwoola is the next most senior after Justice Mary Odili retired on May 12 after attaining the retirement age of 70.
