CICAN to hold National Industrial Summit to boost economy recovery

The Commerce and Industry Correspondents Association of Nigeria, CICAN, has set to hold its annual National Industrial Summit, NIS, targeted at boosting economy recovery especially as the country goes on recession.

The summit, tagged Crystal Excellence Summit, which would hold on Thursday October 13, 2016 at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, LCCI, Exhibition Center, Lagos, is an annual event organised to reward outstanding institutions and individuals for their creativity and positive contributions to industrial growth and societal development.

This year’s event, the 6th edition, which attracts participants from the public and private sectors of the economy would have in attendance include the Honourable Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Okechukwu Enelamah, the President of Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, Dr. Frank Jacob as the Chairman of the occasion, and other dignitaries and key stakeholders in the economic sector ot the country.

Speaking on the importance of the event, the National Chairman of CICAN, Mr. Toba Agboola said the summit would channel new strategies for the development of Nigeria’s industrial sector as well as provide workable solutions to the current economic crisis in the country, adding that the award would serve as incentive to those working harder for the growth of the country, as well as impetus for others to emulate them.

Agboola said the Association’s Award Committee has traversed the nooks and crannies of the country to select deserving institutions and individuals who have made great impact on the nation’s economy to be rewarded with the highly revered “Crystal Excellency Award” at the summit.

Past awardees include the former Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Olusegun Aganga, Dangote Group, Oando Group, Phoenix Mills Ltd., Indomie, Standard Organisation of Nigeria, SON, BUA Groups and Olofa of Ofaland among other distinguished personalities.
