Bello urges Nigerians to be patient with Buhari over recession

Kogi Sate Governor, Yahaya Bello has urged Nigerians to exercise patient with President Muhammadu Buhari over the present economic recession, pray for him and support his administration policies.

Bello added that these were their own sacrifice for the country to become great again

The governor, who stated this in Lokoja shortly after observing the Eid-el-kabir prayer at the Felele central praying ground, assured the residents that in no distant time, Nigeria will be out of the economic crisis.

Bello while assuring Nigerians, said that the current economic position of the country may not look good enough, but he was sure that the President has capabilities to move the country out of the recession.

He noted that the current economic woes would afford Nigeria the opportunity to think out of the box to rebound the nation to greatness, adding “Agriculture and tourism are capable of earning what is enough to grow our economy and lift our people from poverty and deprivation.”

According to the Governor, no nation can grow without selfless sacrifices from her citizens, saying the season is an example of extraordinary affinity to Allah for breakthrough and progress.

“We have not been disadvantaged by what we are passing through. The states only need to key into the efforts by the Federal Government at diversifying our economy and grow it around agriculture, tourism and other non-oil based resources.

“Nigeria must remain united. We must continue to pray for our leaders as directed by Allah. Every leader is anointed by Allah, therefore we must continue to pray for our nation and our leaders.”

The Chief Imam of Lokoja, Alhaji Abdullahi Baba in his sermon cautioned Muslims against bad conduct, “It is imperative for Muslims to embrace good conduct which is the basis of the Eid-El-Kabir.”

While reminding them of death that can occurred at any time, the Islamic cleric charged them to love one another and support the governor, said Bello have shown sign of improving the living standard of the people.

The Imam while praying for Kogi state and the country at large, urged Nigerians to be patience with their leaders, assuring that with patience and perseverance the country can be better again.
