Nigeria international, Micheal Babatunde will be rewarded with a new improved contract by Qatar SC following his impressive showing in his debut season at the club, reports
Babatunde netted 25 times and provided 10 assists to help his club gained promotion to the elite league.
He was also voted Qatar SC player of the season.
The 2014 World Cup star is the highest scoring Nigerian player this outgoing season in the world outscoring the trio of Kayode Olanrewaju 22 goals, Henry Onyekuru 22 goals and Anthony Nwakeame 18 goals.
Babatunde’s rich vein of form has also seen Qatar SC turn down several offers from European teams ready to take him on loan ahead of the 2017/18 season.
“I had a good season but it’s not enough to have a good season and be left out of your national team,” he began in an interview with the media in Lagos on Thursday.
“I’m happy my goals helped Qatar SC gained promotion but I want to build on that form so I can get a chance to represent my country,”
“I have been approached by several teams but I want to make a decision that will boost my chances of making a return back to the team.”
