Armed men have kidnapped a doctor working with the General Hospital in Ugwolawo, Ofu LGA of Kogi State Solomon Nidiamaka.
The medical practitioner was forcefully taken away by the kidnappers around 8.30am from the hospital premises on Monday.
A statement by Kogi chapter chairman, Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), Dr Omakoji Oyiguh and secretary, Dr Famotele Talorunju, confirmed the incident to newsmen in Lokoja.
The statement reads: “The state officers of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) Kogi State, wishes to inform all concerned that our member, Dr Solomon Nidiamaka, who works at General Hospital Ugwolawo, Ofu Local Government Area was forcefully taken away by kidnappers around 8:30am today, 19 July 2021 from the hospital premises.
“We call on the government of Kogi State and all security agencies to work very hard towards his early and safe release.”
Kogi Police spokesman Mr. William Aya said the Command was not aware of the incident.
He however promised to get back as soon as he receives information from the Divisional Police Officer in Ofu local government.
