Daniel Amokachi will be returning to English shores and pulling on the Nigeria shirt once again when he takes part in Star Sixes, a new world six-a-side tournament for former internationals taking place at The O2, London, July 13-16.
The 1995 FA Cup winner will line up alongside captain and close friend Jay-Jay Okocha to face the likes of Alessandro Del Piero, Roberto Carlos and Gilberto Silva after Nigeria were drawn in Group B with Brazil, Italy and China.
Other Ex-Evertonians on show will include Don Hutchison, whose Scotland team have been drawn in the same group as Phil Neville ’s England side, and Olivier Dacourt, who will play alongside RobertPires for France.
“I can’t wait to get started,” Amokachi told evertonfc.com . “It’s a great platform to play with and against ex-teammates and some legends of the game that played in the same generation.
“Jay-Jay Okocha first approached me about it. We’ve known each other for a long time, even before him I was very close friends with his older brother. We’re more like family than friends.
“It will be a great event and hopefully I will get to see plenty of Evertonians there. I always try to keep up my fitness, so I’m ready to play. Let’s see what happens!”
