FC Ifeanyiubah striker, Godwin Obaje is thrilled with his side’s impressive showing in Sunday’s 3-0 away victory against Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan in their Nigeria Professional Football League matchday 20 fixture, reports apnewsng.com.
Obaje grabbed the opening goal in the encounter, his third of the season with Ivorian forward, Seka Pascal and former junior international, King Osanga scoring the other goals.
It was the Anambra Warriors first away win of the campaign and the former JUTH FC player hopes it will signal the beginning of greater things for the team this season.
“To say i’m delighted with the win against Shooting Stars will be an understatement, “Obaje who finished as top scorer in the NPFL with Wikki Tourists last season told apnewsng.com.
“We started the game on a good note with my goal and build on that byscoring two more goals courtesy of Seka and King.
“It’s a massive win for us which we must build on it in subsequent games.
“We started on a poor note this season struggling to win matches ,but now, we believe we can go on to surpass the achievements of last season.”
Yaw Preko’s men currently sit in fourth position in the table, five points behind leaders Plateau United.
