Oral-B, a premium toothpaste brand from the consumer goods manufacturing firm, P&G Nigeria said that it has given out over N17million worth of prizes to Nigerians through a in National promotion which commenced in October, this year.
The promo according to the company was to appreciate consumers on the support given to Oral-B since it entrance into the Nigerian toothpaste market segment since 2011.
The promo which marked the 5th anniversary of the brand in the country had over 150,000 entries where many Nigerians won prizes in different categories ranging from recharge cards and cash across the country.
However, the grand prize winner for the Oral-B national consumer promotion emerged as the promotion came to an end on Thursday.
Soneye Michael Adedimeji from Lagos won N300, 000 for the final grand prize draw conducted at iConcept office, the firm that handled the digital platform for selection of the winners.
Michael could not contain his excitement when he was called from the live promo draws venue in the presence of Journalists and Lottery Boards Representatives and informed that he has been was selected as the winner of the grand prize of N300, 000 during the closing of ceremony of the National Consumer Promotion held in Lagos.
The lucky grand prize winner, Adedimeji Michael said; “I really can’t believe this, it is truly an amazing feeling. I buy Oral-B normally and I entered the draw hoping I will win something. I have previously won the smaller gifts like recharge cards, but I am very surprised and very happy to be the winner of the N300, 000 grand prize Thank you.”
Cheques were also presented to previous winners, Blessing Ntekim and Ikechukwu Asimole from Warri and Benue respectively. Blessing who won N200,000 was extremely excited and expressed her surprise as well as her gratitude to Oral B. Ikechukwu also celebrated winning N100,000 and remarked that it would indeed be a great Christmas for him.
The consumer promotion was commenced as a part of the 5th year anniversary celebration of Oral-B in Nigeria. Over 50 lucky Nigerians emerged as winners of instant prizes ranging from airtime, products, and cash prizes from N10, 000 to N300, 000. Another key feat the brand also achieved this year is reaching over five million households since it came to Nigeria in 2011.
In addition to the consumer promotion, Oral-B visited various communities in Nigeria to provide free dental checks to people through the Oral-B Mobile Dental Clinic Programme, which currently reaches over 2 million Nigerians annually.
On his part, Folarin Ojo, Asst. Brand Manager, oral B in Nigeria, stated that the National Consumer Promotion was designed to celebrate Oral-B five years of operating in the Nigerian market and appreciation of its customers for supporting the brand in the past five years.
He said, “The National Consumer Promo was even more successful and touched the lives of many people across Nigeria. The enthusiasm and appreciation we received from Nigerians shows that our efforts were recognized and very much needed. Here at P&G, our overarching mission is to add value to living and make lives better and we will continue to deliver excellence, which we have been noted for over the years.”
According to him, the brand has over the past five years sponsored and partnered with government and private institutions to support the oral hygiene of the average Nigerian.
The product has also received awards and recognition for quality toothpaste in Nigeria.
